Ride the Rails in Colorado

Thrill to the narrow gorges and plunging vistas as you ride Colorado’s legendary railroads. Start with the Georgetown Loop completed in 1884, this spectacular stretch of three-foot narrow gauge railroad was considered an engineering marvel for its time. Next is the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, the highest rack railway in the world, going up to the summit of Pikes Peak at 14, 115. The following day we’ll ride the Royal Gorge Railroad. Finally it’s the steam-powered 1880’s Durango to Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad from 6700 foot Durango, Colorado to 9300 foot Silverton, Colorado. We’ll spend a day exploring Mesa Verde National Park and another hiking in the red canyons of Colorado National Monument. Finally, we cross under the Rockies on Amtrak’s California Zephyr Rolling into Denver’s newly remodeled Union Station. All Aboard.

Highlights Include:

  • Around the Bend, The Durango to Silverton Narrow Gauge RR
